Inspirations

An emotion is merely a motion of mind not knowing itself.

~ Tulku Urgen Rinpoche

If you practice yoga while you are young and have white teeth,
your mind will be at peace when you are old and have white hair.

~ Shabkar

There is a profound difference
in being self absorbed
and
being absorbed in the
knowing of Self.

That which comes from the heart,
can heal the heart.

"Love can be denied or ignored, or even perverted,
but it does not disappear, it merely takes another form,
until we are consciously ready to accept its mystery
and its power."

~ Sting

"If somebody is coughing up their real experiences
in order to make sense of them,
then that's an amazing thing."

~ Bono

Being in half lotus
does not make you half a person,
just as
being in a full lotus position
does not make you fully awakened.
Half lotus
does not diminish
your enlightened nature.
In actuality,
being in the fullness of a pose
often opens the doorway
that delivers a greater obstacle,
the yogi's pride of accomplishment.

When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also

When your vision has gone
no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.

There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.

The dark will be your womb
tonight.

The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.

You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.

Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn

anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive

is too small for you.

~ David Whyte

TREE OF THOUGHT

Words are precious,
the fruit of our thoughts.
We present them to others for consumption.
If negative, they are poison.
If inspired, they are enlightening.

Masters of the mind
conquer negative thoughts,
holding them prisoners without release
to prevent the harvest of poisonous fruit.

Enlightened mind
has conquered deeply into the roots,
where the enemy of negative thoughts,
never again arise.

A moth flying into the flame says
with its wingfire, Try this. The

wick with its knotted neck broken
tells you the same. A candle as

it diminishes explains, Gathering
more and more is not the way. Burn,

become light and heat and help.
Melt. The ocean sits in the sand

letting its lap fill with pearls
and shells, then empty. A bittersalt

taste hums, This. The phoenix gives
up on good-and-bad, flies to rest on

the mountain, no more burning and rising
from ash. It sends out one message.

The rose purifies its face, drops
the soft petals, shows it thorn, and

points. Wine abandons thousands of
famous names, the vintage years and

delightful bouquets, to run wild
and anonymous through your brain.

The flute closes it eyes and gives
its lips to emptiness.
